FieldBook was developed around the controls that matter in professional field work—not as an after-the-fact note app. It puts safety reviews, protected project records and survey quality-control documentation into one deliberate workflow.
Safety is part of the field record.
Daily hazard assessments, changing-condition reviews, PPE and control records, timed review history and a prominent END FIELD DAY close-out keep safety visible throughout the active session.
Project information stays deliberate.
Local-first storage, project PIN protection, automatic re-locking and controlled project-package sharing reduce casual exposure. Exported project packages do not carry the project PIN, and imported projects require a new PIN.
QC is documented where the work happens.
Coordinate reference, datum, geoid, base-station setup, antenna height, check shots, tolerances and corrective notes live with the daily record so field QA is easier to review and report.

Report exports now create memory-safe evidence images so field days with many high-resolution photos are less likely to produce blank PDFs.

Attachment records remain in the PDF, with report-optimized images, captions and metadata retained for the client record.
CRS setup behaves by jurisdiction
Province/territory selection now persists correctly and new projects no longer begin with an Ontario-biased coordinate-system default.
Safety timing persists
Custom safety-review intervals remain saved instead of reverting after a review, while END FIELD DAY continues to close the active reminder cycle.
Project-management fixes retained
v1.0.3 includes the v1.0.2 project edit/exit corrections, PIN handoff behavior, persistent attachments and in-app attachment viewer/captions.
Cleaner production install
The legacy built-in demonstration project/template is removed from upgraded production installs.

Project data stays under your control.
FieldBook is designed so ordinary project records remain local to the Android device rather than being automatically uploaded to an AeroGeo North cloud service. Sharing is intentional: information leaves the device only when the user exports, shares, backs up or otherwise transmits it.
- Project PINs are not included in exported project packages.
- Imported shared projects require a new PIN.
- Users remain responsible for device security, backups, exports and client information.
- No mandatory FieldBook cloud account is required for ordinary project records.

Are future FieldBook updates included?
Yes. The one-time FieldBook licence includes perpetual update entitlement for updates AeroGeo North releases for the licensed FieldBook product, with no additional licence charge and no recurring software subscription. Separately branded future products, optional paid services and third-party software/services are excluded.
Is FieldBook a cloud application?
No mandatory cloud account is required for ordinary project records. FieldBook is designed for local project storage. Data leaves the device when the user intentionally exports, shares, backs up or otherwise transmits it.
Can a project be shared with another FieldBook user?
Yes. A licensed user can export an .agnproject package. The receiving properly licensed user imports it as a protected local copy and creates a new project PIN.
Does FieldBook replace a safety program or professional QA procedure?
No. It supports documentation, reminders and records. The user and their organization remain responsible for applicable legislation, safety programs, professional standards, independent checks and project procedures.
Can I install it on iPhone or iPad?
The v1.0.3 commercial release supplied here is an Android APK for direct distribution.
Are future upgrades included?
Yes. Perpetual updates include future major and minor FieldBook releases that AeroGeo North publishes for the licensed FieldBook product, at no additional licence charge. Separately branded future products and optional paid services are excluded.
