Northstar CAD + Field Licence & Terms

1. Licence supplied
The standard C$850.00 bundle is offered as a one-time single-user commercial software licence for the Northstar CAD Windows application and Northstar Field Android companion supplied in the written order summary. The purchaser receives a right to use the delivered software; ownership of source code, trademarks and intellectual property is not transferred.
2. Named-user delivery
The commercial package is licensed to the named purchaser/licensee. The licensed installer, APK, licence certificate, private download package and associated credentials or files may not be publicly posted, resold, sublicensed or redistributed unless AeroGeo North authorizes it in writing.
3. Perpetual updates and support
The standard Northstar CAD + Field licence includes a perpetual update entitlement. There is no recurring software subscription fee for the licensed product. Future updates and major/minor version releases that AeroGeo North publishes for the licensed Northstar CAD + Field product are included at no additional licence charge. This update entitlement does not include separately branded future products, optional paid services, third-party software/services or hardware. Technical support is separate from the perpetual update entitlement and is provided under the support terms stated in the order summary and current support policy.
4. Third-party dependencies
Third-party products and services are not included unless the order summary expressly says otherwise. This includes Agisoft Metashape Professional, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Docker/OpenDroneMap components, Litchi, operating systems, drone/RTK hardware and online map providers. Their own licences, accounts, terms, network access and system requirements remain the user's responsibility.
5. Professional and technical responsibility
Northstar provides CAD, geospatial, terrain, survey-workflow and processing assistance. It is not a legal survey, professional engineering certification, statutory approval or guarantee of positional/quantity accuracy. Users must verify CRS, vertical datum/geoid, units, control, GCP/check-point residuals, photogrammetric quality, terrain classification, automatic feature detections, flight settings and contractual quantity methods before relying on outputs.
6. Automated suggestions
Crest/toe/drainage/powerline detection, alignment smoothing and prompt-driven operations are assistance features. Automatically generated geometry must be reviewed before field, design, construction or safety use.
7. Data and backups
The user is responsible for project backups, external processing files and retention of source data. Northstar project files may reference external rasters or processing outputs rather than embedding large source datasets.
8. Applicable law and mandatory rights
These website terms are intended to operate with the written order summary and licence record. Nothing in them excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer, contract or other law.
